PART I:          SELF-IDENTIFICATION

 

Complete TWO paragraphs talking about yourself in some way. Students can emphasize whichever points they wish, but the goal is to group their words under two smaller ideas (the paragraphs) that fall under one larger theme. Grammar, spelling, style, and tone will be considered. To receive the highest scores (10s, 9s, etc), students must identify a theme for their essay, relate the two paragraphs in some way, construct meaningful and interesting sentences, and allow for very few mistakes.

PART II:         ROMANIA AS A PART OF EUROPE

 

Complete one paragraph that describes Romania as a part of Europe in some way. Students can take the paragraph in any direction they wish, but the goal is to create a sound paragraph by virtue of connecting sentences. Grammar, spelling, style, and tone will be considered. To receive the highest scores (10s, 9s, etc), students must identify a theme for their paragraph, construct meaningful and interesting sentences, and allow for very few mistakes.

PART III:       STUDENT CHOICE

 

Complete TWO paragraphs that describe SOMETHING or SOMEONE. Students are free to choose the direction of their response, but the goal is fashion an essay with related paragraphs. To receive the highest scores (10s, 9s, etc), students must identify a theme for their essay, relate the two paragraphs in some way, construct meaningful and interesting sentences, and allow for very few mistakes.
